As a new mom, I was looking for simple, yet fun activities to do with a baby within the community. It was long before I discovered Baby Time. This is the program offered by Vancouver Public Libraries  multiple times a week, at various locations. It’s 25 minutes-half an hour of songs/music and story time. It’s also a great way for mamas to meet other mamas, and babies to interact with other babies.I have been going to this program since Jaxson was around 3 months old, and here we are today, still loving it.

The library also serves as a great resource for baby looks — especially holiday books (Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas, etc.).  Let’s be honest, books are expensive, especially kids books. The library offers such a great variety, and for little or no cost!

The other real cool thing is that encouraging babies to read at a young age has lasting impacts into childhood and adulthood literacy!

So it do — visit the library. You never know what you may find… or who you may meet (all yah mamas out there … or singles ;))!

Happy reading!
